Organic Farm
Hope for the Island is faced with the challenge of finding healthy produce such as fruit and vegetables on Siargao Island. When stock does arrive it is always expensive and not in the best condition. All produce comes from Mindanao (7-10 hour land travel and 4 hours over sea). Locals seldom eat vegetables because they cannot afford them. They survive off meager amounts of fish and rice each day. Many times not even that!
God has blessed Hope for the Island with a 3 hectare (7.4 acres) parcel of land strategically located along the national road and at the centre of the island. Three of our male staff work full time at the farm. We are all excited to be a part of God's work in cultivating land that will reap a bountiful harvest beyond what comes out of the ground!
